Last week was Lead your self in to the future it was such a bast we had so much fun and the Carey donvale came to Kew for he day. Lead your self in to the future day was about was celebrate all the  leaders how are now the 6 captives of the school how are going lead the school. On the day we were doing actives and i was in the mind blue group 4 Carey Kew and 3 Carey donvale we did 3 actives one was news paper tower in the start we had a plan but we are plan failed and we were losing then we had an idea putting one news paper in other then all the teams tower fall but one the green team and are we just finish are tower was just starting up then there tower fell we won. The next active is the was the cup active we had to make a cup tower with not touching the we were not listen to are team and we cap trying but the cups cap falling then time ran out and we failed. The next active was the hard one planking it was really hard it was my turn my back was really hurting then someone went up and the i went down we had 1 minute left we only had 4 up Mr Ingles cam and said you guys lost you are post to have 5 people up not 4 or less and we only 4 up i as really mad with my self Mary next time we should cont how many people up and how many down the light green team won. 6 boxes icy pole then there shared the icy poles with everyone we were really happy the icy poles were really good i got Orange flavour my 7 favourite icy pole. One person in my group goes to a leaning place with me and i new they. After the icy poles the principle came and gave us a long speech then he did an active we all of us so one person sits on a knee and the back sits on other knee it was really hard to do but we tried we only didn’t for like 3 seconds then we all fall it was really funny then the priceable cam and spoke again. Then Carey donvale left then went there left we stared and clean up we were finished the we left to go back home. I really had a lot of fun in team 2 Carey Kew is going to Carey donvala for some like this i love how we are doing it again i cant wait to go Carey donvala because i have beaver seen it before it is my fist time going i wound want it looks like i have seen Photos I know it has a really good sun set back ground i hope i am going to have a lot of fun there i just cant wait to go

One thing that I remembered is the Diwali lighters we used then every Diwali to make more and more light this year me and my sister buried a lot my sister did two I did five it is really fun doing then at nighttime because it’s makes it more brighter and when you wave it looks like dr strange portal. My family has been doing this for a long time and it is really fun doing it with my and family and friends and coming to my house and doing it together.

Diwali is really special to my family on the day we play together and go together so we stick together for the hole day and we give gifts and we can not be rude to that person but be nice to them we put a tie light candle outside all the doors so there bad people will stay far away and not hurt us. 

In India people go to a temple and get a tie light light it up and put it on the lake there are around 1000 of them at the same time it looks really cool at the night and people spent time with there family in the temple to pray to god and. There give food or money to the poor kids in India how don’t have money to live and pay for the Fees or can’t buy clothes or buy a house.

Diwali is celebrated on the Saturday, 14 November India people love this festival there spent 5 days doing this and my family people call it Diwali or Deepawali bast on were you are from the west or the north but people still do it. People clean there house and decorating their homes with lights there buying new clothes and get rid of the bad clothes to be safe.

Why do Indian people celebrate Diwali there celebrate it because how the Indian celebrate New Year and because it brings more light to pollen how live in the dark place. There are 5 days in Diwali because Day One (Day of fortune) , Day Two (Day of knowledge) , Day three (Day of light) , Day four (New Year) , Day five (Day of love between siblings).

There food there is really good we eat sweets and you only eat vegetarian on the day there give the food at temple after you eat you have to pray to god and promise god not to do anything bad on the day so are bless by hem and no people will hurt you.

 

Here we have a penguin that is about to go in the water getting food. Penguins can not fly because over time the flippers have adapted to the cold and the salt water there have fur that are not fur but feathers there are black and grey- bluish and white on the belly there cane stand up well because the have a big body and small legs 

Penguins eat fish crabs shrimp and squid penguins have beaks to catch there pray and there wigs to make faster and more easy to swimming penguins huddle up most of the time so there can keep really Warm penguins cant fly because there wigs have changed to swim in the water and not fly 

A lot penguins live in Antartica but some penguins live in a warm environment and penguins live in there polar and the salt water and the ocean in a penguins there have warmer blood then a human so there can stay warm for a loge time.

 

 

Last week 5Q went to Toonallook the bus drive was 4 hours when I got there I met fish  are  teacher for camp there hardest thing was when I was alone my mum and dad was not there but I used courage and did cry but fish told us how to play king ball that made me happy and I got king ones and I was really happy then it was lunchtime but we had to add a 3 vegetable and I only add 1 but it was good it did not taste bad when it was bedtime I was really scared because I have not slept in a tent before it was my first time but I went to sleep and felt good the nexts morning all my friend woke up and got ready for breakfast so I did to and breakfast was good but I felt wired because the breakfast was not the same then on Thursday was the toonachallge and I came 10th and I did ok the we drove bake to home 

 

Production Reflection – Hanging on the Bottom of the World

This week, Year 5 performed the Production of Hanging on the Bottom of the World. 

It is a mixture of Australian History – including the states becoming one country, the gold rush, Captain Cook discovering New South Wales, the convicts, the gold rush at Sovereign Hill, Chinese miners, cricket, and the Federation of Australia. 

I played a Soldier for Captain Cook, an Official and a cricket spectator. I enjoyed being the soldier the most because I liked being part of the Captain Cook crew. 

The Gold scene was my favourite because I liked the songs. 

The most challenging part for me was to stay serious when I was on stage. I had to show the Positive Learner Attributes of Courage and knowledge and resilience. 

The stage set was one of the best things about the play. It was a big map of Australia, painted to look like indigenous art and with sand around the whole outline. 

My family came watch last night and they said it was “the best performance they had ever seen”. 

I am thankful for Miss Q. She came up with the idea of the play and all of the ideas for the costumes and the roles and the set. I am grateful that she helped me with my role so I could do a good job. It was a highlight of the year for me. 

My favourite book chat book was Ghost was the best book chat book of 2019 Ghost is about a boy is really fast but really poor his dad what’s tho kill he and he’s mother but ran away his shoes are broking so he stills a good per of shoes and run aways.He is really scared when he’s gos home he’s dad when away looking for then so he turned the tv on and sleep then next day is the big day for Ghost there is a big running Match then I gos of but you need to find out in the next book is patina.

Ghost should be a move because there a lot of action in the book so people would like it and because it is family and friendly so people would what to cum. What I didn’t like about the book was when it left a cliffhanger so what really what to read more there are more book there 4 books in the cerise there are Ghost , patina , sunny , lu. I think Ghost is a good book for 4 ,5 ,and 6 because there is lot moving and just reading the one page gos really fast

Then it happens the Eureka Stockade miner vs trooper 25 miners died and 5 troopers the guy who started it was Peter Lalor he ran away and never came back.

There was a lot racism to the Chinese it was so bad that the Chinese were dying and white peoples did not care about that there were killing the Chinese and there was a high chance that people could die of disease Chinese did not like this so there went to fight and white people fought back and many of them did not cum back. It made the government ver angry and made rules to stop all of this.
